In the Skinjacker trilogy two people (Nick and Allie) wake up in a mysterious forest where no wind blows. There is a kid who looks like he’s from the 1950’s. They soon discover that they are no longer alive and are stuck in a place known as Everlost (a place between life and death). They need to return home but on their way they find themselves taking refuge in a crossed over twin towers. Mary high tower the “wisest” soul in ever lost try’s to save children from the light by taking there coins and forcing them into endless cycles of habit where every day they do the same exact thing every day down to the last word. That all starts to change once Nick and Allie realize what she is doing. When nick and Allie try to stop her they must part ways. By now Nick is half chocolate because of a little piece on his face that consumes him more each day.
Are you confused yet? I know I was by this part of the series, you see that may be one of the downfalls of this book in that it is extremely confusing and even in the last couple of chapters there are still a lot of questions and a lot of those are never answered. Although this book is confusing you can’t help but to feel an emotional connection to the charterers in the book and feel sad for them.
Whether you believe in life after death or not this book incorporates plenty super natural content. This book is a great read for any situation, its perfect to read on the beach, in a car, or even in a plane. It is good for all age types older than 8 years old. The reason I say eight is because there are some things that an eight year old might not understand.
As the series goes on answers are reveled but only raise more questions. When trying to recall the whole series it’s hard to because there is no definitely setting they are always moving. There are also so many characters throughout the book. I think I counted over 18 “main” characters throughout the series.
I would give this book a four out of five it deducted a star because of the level of confusing
